Nice article Charlie. I would like to add that people that intend to run a comprehesive background check on someone need to make sure they are using a reputable background investigation company. The reason is is that most of the companies out there that say they offer background checks for say $30 or whatever the price is, do not keep there databases up to date.
 
Meaning that the information about a person could be out dated. You may be interviewing a potential employee and run a background check on them through one of these cheaper services and not find out that just 2 months ago that person was arrested for a crime.
